Dear Mom

Like any other holiday, Mother’s Day is one of the days we can all gather together and celebrate the woman who gave us life.  Not only that, but a few of us can also celebrate the gift of giving life.  Whichever it may be, I celebrate you today.  There is a mother in each and every one of us.  A mother is defined as a female parent, a woman in authority, or an old or elderly woman.

A mother is more than the definitions above.  When I personally think of a mother, I think of a woman that puts her children above herself and her needs.  At least that is how I remember my mother in her best and worst days.  The things that brought her joy was seeing her children happy and taken care of.  Another important memory I had of my mother was her infectious sense of humor.  She would always make every moment, whether good or bad, a fun adventure.  That was my biggest gifting from her.  To make every day an adventure no matter if it rained or shined.  I am grateful for you today mom, Maria Padron. I love you.

I am sure you can remember a memory as a child that made you admire your mother.

I am sure you can remember a memory just as I did as a child that made you admire your mother.  It’s those memories we hold on to and treasure for years and years to come.  As we reflect and celebrate Mother’s Day today, I would like to share a message for three different people . . .

To the one who is not a mother yet . . .

Be patient my dear.  God adores you so much.  He has great plans for your life (Jeremiah 29:11).  I believe your precious baby is right around the corner.  It may seem like it is taking forever, but it is right on track for your life.  There is a reason it is taking longer than it should.  There is a reason for that pain you are feeling.  Be encouraged to focus on what you do have instead of what you don’t have.  We can get wrapped around all the negativity about what we don’t have.  We may even continue to focus on more negative things because we are already feeling negative.  Well, I am here to tell you, “no.”  Don’t do it.  Don’t fall into the trap of the enemy.  That is what it is, a trap.  Who here loves to feel like a champ? I sure do.  Take authority of who you are in Christ(Galatians 2:20), and declare out loud “today will be an amazing day no matter what.”  There is something so powerful about saying it out loud.  You are affirming it to the world that you will have an amazing day on this Mother’s Day!  Take a hold of that and remind yourself of all the goodness God has in store for you!

To the one who has lost a mother . . .

Today may be a sad day for you because you want to do the things that everyone else is doing with their mother during this holiday.  That pain you have in your heart is there because of a great love you have lost.  Those memories I was talking about earlier are the very memories that you need to tap into.  The love of a mother is indescribable, and I am sure you have stories that will demonstrate that.  The love of a mother is unlike any other.  We crave it.  We want it.  So when we miss it on this special Mother’s day, it is extra difficult.  I declare that today we celebrate the loss of your loved one.  Share a special memory with your family and friends.  Celebrate her life in a way that exemplifies her way of living life.  Furthermore, today I pray your feelings of loss are comforted by Jesus Christ.  As Psalm 34:18 reads, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit.”  Lean on Jesus today and he will give you rest (Mathew 11:28).

To the one who is a mother . . .

You are amazing! You are resilient! I see everything you do, and I am amazed by you.  From working full time or being a stay at home mom, cleaning, cooking, driving everyone around, and looking fabulous are some of the few things that set you apart.  You are clothed with strength and dignity and laugh at the days to come (Proverbs 31:25).  You have a gifting, and that gifting spans way farther than your family circle.  Your love, your passion, your upkeeping of your children will live on for generations to come.  For every love, every hug, every saying, every special recipe, and every tradition will continue to live on for years and years to come.  This is because your children will continue the unwavering love you have given them through their children.  And this was all because of you.  I celebrate you today.

Dear Mom, you are special.  Whether today is your day or you’re patiently waiting to be, dearest one, you are amazing!  Dear Mom, to the one who left us early, we honor you today for all that you have done in our lives.  Being a mom is an amazing role that should not only be celebrated one day, but every day.

A prayer for all mothers today.

Father God, today is a special day for mothers across the globe.  I pray you give the woman peace during this difficult day that her mom is not with her today.  May she hold on to the beautiful memories as she celebrates her mother’s life.  To the one who yearns to be a mother, I pray for patience and joy during the waiting.  Their prize is right around the corner.  To the mother who is celebrating today.  I pray continued support in her job, her life, and her health.  May she continue to bring a loving and caring home for her children and spouse.  I pray for every woman to call their mother today, even if the relationship has been severed.  May you mend it today and celebrate the union and life.  Dear Mom, I celebrate you today because Jesus adores you and everything your do for your family.  In Jesus Name, Amen

  2. Wise words. Sometimes when we don’t see the purpose in the pain, it can be all consuming. It is so tough to accept that we may never know the purpose,.but surrounding ourselves with people of faith who encourage us and keep our ember warm through the storm, that helps a lot. Thank you for sharing your flame of faith ♡
